One of the featured speakers for the 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Teach-In was visiting Professor of Sociology Nicole Brown, a 1999 IWU alumna. Her presentation was entitled “When All the Lies are White: A Speculative History and Imagined Future of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Visit to a Predominantly White Liberal Arts Institution.”
