Titan Talks: "IWU Esports: A Focus on Competition, Community, and Career"
Illinois Wesleyan University Esports, established as a Varsity program in 2018, has rapidly expanded to become a regular name in the ever growing collegiate esports landscape. The program currently contains 50 students actively competing, 14 student workers, three full time staff, and a dedicated, standalone space for the program on campus.
This talk aims to introduce the epsorts program to a wider audience and discuss how the program is more than just a competitive organization, serving as a career readiness training group as well as a community hub. The talk will also cover the basic of what esports is at a collegiate level and how other can get involved or follow along.
