Sean Parsons, class of 2002 Illinois Wesleyan graduate and the 2014 Robert M. Montgomery Outstanding Young Alumnus, presented a Back to College Class during Homecoming activities on Oct. 18, 2014.

Abstract

1959 was a remarkable year in jazz with the recording of some of the most iconic albums in American music. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dave Burbeck, Charles Mingus and Ornette Coleman created innovative works that should be a part of every jazz record collection due to their artistic and social importance.
