She was a key component and founder of two organizations that educated the public about women's health issues and established programs and services services women in the McLean County community. She founded Women's Heart Health Ambassadors while working at OSF Healthcare in Bloomington as a part of a heart health initiative at OSF. Women Empowered was founded shortly after her involvement in WHHA, and encompassed a group of women who pooled resources to fund events, education and resources.
