Award Description

Korey graduated Magna Cum Laude from IWU, earned an Executive MBA from Bradley University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Compensation Consultant (CCP). Korey is the human resources director for Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products Division (BCP), where his innovative leadership has contributed significantly to BCP’s global success. In 2014, Governor Pat McCrory named Korey chairman of the North Carolina Commission on Workforce Development. Korey works closely with the Caterpillar Foundation to drive support to local organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of Lee County, YMCA of the Triangle, Food Bank of the Triangle, Forward Communities, Habitat for Humanity, HELPs Education, Meals on Wheels, InterAct, and Lucy Daniels Center. Korey was a standout student athlete at IWU, and received numerous awards for his contributions on and off the court, including first team All-American in basketball and Academic All-American of the Year in 1999 and 2000. Korey has always been a loyal supporter of Illinois Wesleyan University and was named a “Decade Champion” for the Dennie Bridges court-naming campaign.
