Thomas O. Hansen is the chief executive officer and founder of ACCENT Marketing Services, Inc., in Louisville, Ky. Earlier this year he was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" in the service industry for the Kentucky/Southern Indiana region, an award sponsored by USA Today, NASDAQ, Ernst & Young LLP, the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the "Entrepreneur of the Year" Institute. Prior to creating ACCENT, Hansen spent 11 years at General Electric, where he held a variety of financial and marketing positions. As manager of residential marketing for GE Consumer Service, he managed a $120 million organization and developed many successful direct marketing campaigns. He is a graduate of GE's Financial Management Program and traveled globally for three years on GE's corporate audit staff performing operational reviews of GE's core businesses. Hansen is a member of the Direct Marketing Association, American Telemarketing Association, and the Kentucky Colonels. He has volunteered his time to work for the Maryhurst Garden Renovation, St. Vincent DePaul Society family Christmas drive, the Hawthorne Elementary School family Christmas drive, the Boys & Girls Club, and the United Way Day of Caring. Hansen and his wife, Kathleen, have three children - Patrick, Christian and Matthew.
