Abstract
This is a visual ethnography of Rabbi Rebecca L. Dubowe, the first female, deaf rabbi in the world. In this project, ethnographic interviews, participant observation, and use of photography and videography, highlight Dubowe's thoughtful leadership style. She is extremely attentive to every individual she comes into contact with, practicing a life of daily compassion. I utilized my background as an art minor and professional photographer to capture her natural ability to listen and make people feel heard, as well as worked in close collaboration with her as a visual ethnographer. Together we were able to tell the story of her leadership, which she calls, "sacred partnership."
