This dedication ceremony was held to honor University Nurse Velma Arnold, Brokaw School of Nursing graduate of 1930 and the person who established IWU's Health Services in 1941, by naming the office after her. Nurse Arnold served IWU's campus from 1941-1971 and is present at this ceremony but does not speak.

Names of speakers: Ben Rhodes, Advancement; IWU President Wayne Anderson; Hugh Henning, President of the Board of Trustees; Chaplain William Whitehurst; Lloyd Bertholf, IWU President 1958-68; Delores Helm, IWU Nurse at the time of this dedication.

At the end of the ceremony Ben Rhodes tells a story about a weight from the Health Services office that was in Hedding Hall when it burned down in 1943. The object is held in IWU's Tate Archives & Special Collections.
