The images available for download above and to the right were individual posts to an Instagram account. The were selected by IWU's Faculty Committee on Diversity and distributed to the IWU community for the reasons they state in the memo linked below. An excerpt is included in the abstract field here. Student assistants at IWU's library created the transcripts in a document linked below to make the images text readable.

Abstract

"Part of our charge as the Faculty Committee on Diversity is, 'to help develop and sustain a welcoming community based on respect and appreciation for individual differences.' Illinois Wesleyan students that identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) have been sharing their experiences on IWU’s campus through an anonymous Instagram account (@BIPOCatIWU). The stories shared on this page indicate that our community has work to do, both in and out of the classroom, to achieve this mission." [excerpt from memo linked below]
