Abstract
Alumna Marjorie "Ocho" Kouns '79 will discuss her journey as the voice of several characters in the children's cartoon Dora the Explorer, which reaches countries around the globe. Kouns is also an acclaimed artist-in-residence, living in New York and Shreveport, La., whose latest public art work "Shades of Shreveport" will light up the IWU Robert S. Eckley Quadrangle during Homecoming.

In 2019, she recorded an oral history when she came back to campus to donate materials related to her professional life and to work she created while she was a student.
