A Diminutive New Species of Pristimantis (Amphibia: Anura: Leptodactylidae) from Northern Peru

Abstract
A distinctive, minute new species o f the Pristimantis unistrigatus Group is described from cloud forest at an elevation of 2850 m a .s. 1. in the Departamento de Piura in northern Peru. The single known specimen, an adult female ' 5.3 mm in snout-vent length, is blackish brown with orange-red blotches on the flanks and anterior surfaces of the thighs and has slightly elevated dermal ridges on the head, a small terminal tubercle on the snout, and n arrow finger and toe discs.
