Course Catalog Description

This course will provide an overview of big data analysis and machine learning approaches. Topics covered include basics of machine learning techniques, data exploration and preparation, classification algorithms and big data computing technologies. Students learn how to identify the characteristics of datasets, select and implement suitable machine learning techniques and computing environment for various applications, and analyze large datasets using Spark as a platform.
