Course Catalog Description

An overview of various applications of computer science in the areas of molecular biology, genomics, and medicine. Topics will include biological sequence alignment, gene-finding, phylogeny, protein-protein interaction networks, personalized medicine and cancer informatics. Coding assignments will be done in Python. Biology students are welcome with introductory computer science experience (CS125/6/7) as are Computer Science students with no biology background
