Factors that explain differential learning in the study abroad context

Abstract

I will discuss factors that explain differential learning in the study abroad and immersion contexts such as personality, pre-department proficiency, place of residency (home stay, apartment, dorm), breadth and depth of social networks, language learning strategies, and socio-affective factors such as motivation, attitudes, beliefs, language engagement and anxiety.
