Abstract
Throughout this study, I focused on building positive relationships with students by creating a positive virtual environment, differentiating instruction, and using various instructional strategies. While my main focus was to build positive relationships with my students I will also mention ways in which positive relationships can be built with parents/guardians, and colleagues. Based on other studies, we have been able to see the benefits of positive student-teacher relationships and scaffolding in order to build important academic and social skills. (Cook, Clayton R et al., 2018; Baker, 2008; O’Connor, Dearing, & Collins, 2011; Silver, Measelle, Armstron, & Essex, 2005).Throughout this study, I learned effective ways to create meaningful and positive relationships with my students while learning about the benefits of having teachers who mirror their students.
