Abstract
Rick Longstreth has been practicing hypnotherapy for more than 20 years, and has had large success with his practice. This study will provide a brief history of hypnotherapy and how it is viewed in American society. This research will focus on the methods and techniques that Longstreth uses, along with his own principles and philosophy on his practice of hypnotherapy. Peer-reviewed scholarly articles will be used as additional research. Data will also be gathered through ethnographic interviews with Longstreth and observation with one of his clients. Visual representations will be produced in collaboration with Longstreth of his training, methods, and insights into hypnotherapy.
