Abstract
We discuss the consequences of incorporating 1% of Mn atoms into a well known layered material, Niobium diselenide (NbSe2). Experiments and their interpretation indicate a presence of a spin density wave phase, nestled between a superconducting and a charge density wave (CDW) phases. The intercalation of magnetic Mn impurities modifies the electronic behavior and magnetic interactions within the crystal, promoting competition and coexistence of multiple ordered phases. These results highlight the sensitivity and tunability of low-dimensional quantum materials and their correlated electronic states, providing insight into how controlled impurity doping can induce or stabilize emergent phases.
