With over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Gruber has not only utilized her expertise as a pediatric and research nurse, but also obtained her M.B.A. in international business. Her unique background has aided Gruber in her current role on the Board of Directors for Global Healing based in Berkeley, Calif., a U.S.-based, 501(c) non-profit organization dedicated to bringing modern medicine to the developing world. Prior to her current position, Gruber served as the chief financial officer and volunteer coordinator of Global Healing and its clinic in Honduras – the Roatan Volunteer Pediatric Clinic. Traveling to Honduras gave Gruber the opportunity to work directly with local governments, healthcare providers, businesses, and private citizens to achieve Global Healing’s goal of “empowering a population to take care of its own,” she said.
