Abstract
Sikma is an Accounting major, Class of 1977, although he is a team member of the Seattle Supersonics at the time of the interview. Speaks to the reasons he chose IWU, both for the academic program and for the welcoming atmosphere. He also speaks about the balance of being a scholar-athlete, with academics coming first but with hard work he also succeeded in basketball. He found that faculty in his academic courses were supportive when the team traveled, specifically mentioning a trip to Israel, but did not show preferential treatment due to his successes. He felt that the sum of his experiences prepared him for anything he will encounter and the friendships he developed are lasting.
