This is an introduction given before the speech of the keynote speaker of Founder's Day, Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha.
This was the final speech Provost Green gave before leaving IWU to become President at Susquehanna University. Jonathan Green served as Illinois Wesleyan University's Provost and Dean of the Faculty from 2011-2017 when he became President of Susquehanna University. In addition to his administrative appointment, Dr. Green was a professor of music. Green came to Illinois Wesleyan from Sweet Briar College where he joined the faculty in 1996 and served as dean of the college and vice president for academic affairs starting in 2004. Green earned his doctorate in musical arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, his master's degree from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, and his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
