Description

Although Omari Saidi never learned to climb coconut trees himself, his father worked as a coconut tapper and led a group of dancers who regularly performed uta, a dance that includes prayers for rain. Omari inherited his father's position and continues to organize the annual uta performance on the grounds of the Riyadha Mosque during the Maulidi celebration.
