Inspired by their own exposure to visiting artists as undergraduate students, The Anthony E. Stellaccio Visiting Artists Lecture Fund was established in 2007 by Cherie Egbers Stellaccio ’66 and her son, artist Anthony E. Stellaccio, Executive Director of Studio Potter. Cherie recalled her time as a music major at Illinois Wesleyan, and how visiting artists and the Annual Symposium of Contemporary Music “opened my eyes and ears when I was an undergraduate.” She also noted how much visiting artists encouraged and inspired Anthony during his undergraduate years. By establishing the Visiting Artists Fund, the Stellaccios hope to inspire others and broaden cultural awareness by providing a way to bring artists to the Illinois Wesleyan community to share their experience and expertise.
