Directed by Associate Professor of Theatre Arts Scott Susong, with Jessica McGrew ’19, as assistant director. Featuring set design by Professor of Theatre Arts Curtis Trout, costume design by Hannah Sage, (senior BFA Design/Technology), lighting by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts David Stoughton, sound designer Dakota Kroes (senior BFA Design/Technology), choreography by Sheri Marley, and musical direction by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts Saundra DeAthos-Meers.
Synopsis
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical South Pacific is set in an island paradise during World War II. It tells the tale of two parallel love stories threatened by the dangers of prejudice and war, and how these couples confront their fears for a chance to find happiness. The show features music composed by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and book by Hammerstein II and Joshua Logan.
