Description
Following her graduation from Illinois Wesleyan, Stockert began working as a surgical nurse with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She later served as an instructor at Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing—then called Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing—while pursuing a master’s degree. Stockert has also served as an assistant professor and dean of the undergraduate program at the college. Stockert, who earned a doctorate in nursing from Saint Louis University, has coauthored two nursing textbooks: Fundamentals of Nursing and Basic Nursing. Stockert ’76 will be honored during a social and awards ceremony Oct. 18, 2014. After the social, she will present “Nursing: Embrace the Unexpected Journey.”
