Merrifield was a Senior, majoring in Insurance at the time of this interview in 1978. She speaks of her reasons for choosing IWU and her major and the impact travel opportunities and the close connection with faculty had on her. She also highlights the opportunities she had for participating in campus organizations like Delta Sigma Theta and the Black Student Union.
