Abstract
Professor of Biology Hippensteele speaks about the benefits of a small university, the approachability of the faculty, and atmosphere of healthy competition. He speaks of the quality of the facilities, including the library, and cites a recent encounter with Clay Highum. He also notes the access students have to scientific equipment at IWU and, if needed, at ISU. He mentions interacting with faculty in other disciplines to learn more about what his students are encountering: specifically, Bob Bray (English) and Sue Moreto (Languages) are mentioned. He also points out the benefit of engaging with ideas from different disciplinary perspectives in informal debates with faculty and the benefits of General Education for students in their life beyond IWU.
