Award Description
After serving as Professor of English and chairman of the department of English and journalism at Western Illinois University, Dr. Stiffler retired in 1988. But she has never retired as a volunteer for her class at Illinois Wesleyan. Dr. Stiffler is a former Argus editor and a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She served as her class agent from 1967 to 1972 and became class chairman until 1983. In 1982 she began her class newsletter and has been its editor ever since. Dr. Stiffler has also been a member of the publications committee of the Alumni Council and has helped ensure the success of her class reunions. She and her husband, Harold, have three sons and are the guardians of Thomas Mackey '88
