Description
Wright State’s Institutional Repository with Digital Commons, CORE Scholar, has been active for approximately a year and a half now. In addition to our Digital Commons platform, we have also maintained a DSpace-based repository since 2008. Earlier this year, due to a lack of support for our DSpace platform, CORE, we began to look for a new service to host our content. We have encountered many issues that needed to be resolved during the process of planning and executing our migration from DSpace to Digital Commons. In our presentation we plan to discuss our workflow for migrating diverse collections from one platform to another. This presentation will also highlight our efforts to work with Archives staff, how we utilized virtual collections to create an easier way to browse large collections, our decision to abandon the Handle System, as well as how to continue to provide streaming content to our users.
